This notice explains what personal data we hold, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers people who contact us, our clients, and businesses we contact by email as part of our own marketing.
If we emailed you
We send business-to-business emails to UK companies to offer web design services. If you received an email from us, this section is the one that applies to you.
Where we got your details
We do not buy marketing lists. Business contact details come from publicly available sources: company websites, publicly listed business directories and Google Business Profiles, and the public register at Companies House.
Our lawful basis
We rely on legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) to contact businesses about services relevant to them. We only contact organisations, not consumers, and every email tells you how to stop. You can object at any time, and we will stop.
How to stop hearing from us
Every marketing email we send includes a simple way to opt out. Reply with the word stop, or email us, and we will not contact you again. We keep a record of your request (and nothing more) so that we can keep honouring it.
What we hold, and for how long
| Data | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Business name, website, email address, and where a name is publicly listed, the contact name | To contact you about our services | Until you ask us to stop, or the record is no longer useful |
| Marketing emails we sent and any replies | Business record of what was sent and agreed | While useful, then deleted |
| Unsubscribe and do-not-contact requests | So we can keep honouring your request | Kept indefinitely, and never deleted |
| Emails you send us, and our replies | Answering you and keeping a record of what was agreed | While we are in contact, and for our business records afterwards |
| Contact form submissions | Responding to your enquiry | While we are in contact, and for our business records afterwards |
Why we keep unsubscribe requests forever. It sounds contradictory to keep data about someone who asked us to stop. It is the only way to be certain we never contact you again. We keep the minimum needed to recognise you and nothing else.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our instructions:
- Elastic Email — delivering the business emails we send
- Brevo — sending the notification when you submit our contact form
- Cloudflare — website hosting and DNS
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete it
- stop using it, including stopping all contact
- object to our legitimate interests, including our marketing email
Email hello@sitemojo.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge. If you simply want us to stop emailing, say so in one line and that is enough — you do not need to give a reason or quote any law.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and does not track you across other sites. If that changes we will ask for your consent first and update this notice.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top.
